Department of Veterans Affairs

• Project #508-341 Minor, Construct New Parking Levels on Existing Parking Structures at Atlanta. This project will add three additional levels of parking for 400 additional new spaces to the existing parking structure at the main medical facility. Cost: $701,517.00.
• Project #508-347 Total renovation of physical structure located at Fort McPherson, Atlanta, Georgia. The project will demolish sections of the building, which includes asbestos abatement, in-place concrete casting, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, roof and deck Thermoplastic and Firestopping. LEED practices such as LED lighting, reflective roofing and medal recycling will be adhered to. Cost: $15 Million.
• Project #508-17-101 – Renovation of the 5th floor Building 1: Geriatric Medical/Mental Health Unit. Cost: $10 Million

Engineering & Facilities Maintenance

• Manages the design and construction of large capital construction and renovation projects as per all applicable standards, codes, and guidelines.
• Assists in developing project budget and scope.
• Procures and reviews proposals for design as per project scope and budget.
• Provides oversight of design process in accordance with project goals and requirements.
• Assists in the advertisement and procurement of proposals for assigned construction projects.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment and use appropriate software.
• Mechanical proficiency for hydraulic and pneumatic systems, maintain and troubleshoot motors, photo eyes, relays, proximity sensors, solenoids, motor starters, tachometers, encoders, etc.
• Perform preventative maintenance on facility equipment (HVAC, VAV’s, air handlers, air compressors, dryers, balers AC/DC electrical motors variable drives, etc.
• Adjust, reset, repair, or replace adjustable components (belts, chains, cables) and wearing components (guides, bearings, wheels, rollers, pulleys)
• Clean, lubricate, and calibrate equipment.
• Perform basic electrical maintenance and simple repair/replace of various electrical circuits and related electronic equipment, using tools such as multi-meters and infrared thermometers.
• Utilize handheld devices and asset management system mobile apps to create and close Work Orders with appropriate data (labor hours, downtime, problem/cause/remedy, and parts used)
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships across all levels of the organization.
• Follow appropriate OSHA, safety procedures and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment (Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc.), and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards.
• Use appropriate job plans, procedures, and manuals.
